Dead Zone

Steve and Nicky Watson move from Leeds to the country but it is no rural idyll. Web designer Steve cannot get an Internet connection, due to the house's location and rock star neighbour Grizzo rides his noisy quad bike at all hours. With an inadequate, unfriendly village store the pair can do without Nicky's father Ken suggesting they emulate smug neighbours Matt and Meena's self-sufficiency whilst landscape gardener Nicky discovers that locals pay for her services with cakes. Things surely cannot get worse - until Grizzo crashes his jet-propelled parachute through Steve's office roof.

Deep End

Thanks to Matt and Meena the Internet is connected but Steve and Nicky wake to another problem when they find their kitchen has flooded. Ken advises a tank but this is costly so when Grizzo tells them he is offering a reward for his escaped panther cub Steve builds a trap to catch it. Unfortunately Matt gets there first whilst Nicky's dog walking earnings literally go up in smoke.

Shut Up

Grizzo's nocturnal band practice is keeping Nicky and Steve awake and when that stops the sound of his friends' clay pigeon shooting takes over. However things start to improve for the couple when Nicky engages local tearaway Bronson for work experience with Steve's struggling web-site business. Despite Steve's misgivings the boy proves to be a true asset when he hacks into all Steve's rivals' computers, winning back his customers for him.

Get Lost

When ramblers, led by the officious Ray, start walking through their garden Steve and Nicky are appalled to learn that it has been a public right of way since 1383. Their efforts to raise a petition get no support from the village and they find themselves on a blog as one of the best country walks in England. Fortunately they discover Ray's dark secret and are able to see off the intruders but still have to sit through Matt and Meena's tone-deaf children's charity recorderthon.

Day Trip

With their efforts at self-sufficiency a failure and Nicky being used as a free taxi by old Alice she and Steve regret more than ever their move to the country but there are compensations when Matt slices his thumb off, Ken brings them his meat raffle prize and Nicky realizes a trip to Leeds with Alice could give her and Steve a day out to the city.
Episode 6
Party Time

Nicky and Steve are reminded by Matt and Meena that they promised a house-warming party, which Nicky sees as an opportunity to invite their friends from Leeds though only two, boring, guests, turn up. However all the villagers turn out in force and the party appears to be a huge success - until Grizzo's arrival by helicopter ends the celebrations in spectacular fashion.
