Episode 1
Tue, Mar 6, 201824 mins
At pub landlord Laurie Nichols' funeral his clumsy, down-trodden son Stephen - whose refurbishment of the pub is not well-received - is perplexed by the arrival of much-travelled, charismatic Andrew Donnelly, who claims to be one of the many children Laurie and his wife Ellen fostered over thirty years ago. Andrew has only happy memories of their childhood but Stephen cannot even recall him and his frustration is heightened not only by the rapturous welcome his sister Cass and Ellen give Andrew but the presence of an ailing dog with which he has been saddled by a mystery woman and which needs an expensive operation.

Episode 2
23 mins
The family gathers for the reading of Laurie's will, where Stephen, still the reluctant owner of Maureen the dog, is horrified to learn that Andrew has been left a 5% share of the pub, as well as joining Ellen in being baptized by scary vicar Julian. Stephen decides to promote a caravan park, which Andrew - predictably - hi-jacks, turning it into a festival site with people using Stephen's caravan as a toilet. Furthermore Stephen's ex-wife, lawyer Alison, and her new lover Tom use the caravan in which to have sex.

Episode 3
24 mins
Stephen is annoyed when Andrew announces that the failing pub needs a make-over to give it a more traditional look, which also involves replacing regular staff Jan and Mike with sexier, younger bartenders. Stephen's frustration grows when Andrew's ideas boost the pub's reputation and in desperation posts online disparaging views. Andrew detects them but still reemploys Jan and Mike but Stephen has another problem when ex-wife Alison tells him she is moving away with Tom.

Episode 4
24 mins
Andrew attempts to help Stephen take his mind off Alison's leaving by taking him on a road trip to meet their suppliers, the men not owning to having met Laurie, the women having had affairs with him. Whilst unnerving Stephen with the inference that he may have killed a childhood friend Andrew encourages him to have sex with vineyard owner Annie but he nods off instead. On return the pair find that Ellen, high on acid, also had affairs, Cass is declaring her love for Andrew and the pub is in flames, thanks to Geoff's lifting the No Smoking ban.

Episode 5
22 mins
As Cass sets off to travel the world Andrew buys her share of the - fire-gutted - pub but Stephen has an even greater shock when he discovers a man has hanged himself in the woods and is further annoyed when Andrew goes on TV to say that he found the body. He also nearly falls victim to a bogus dog-napper and there is a further surprise when Cass returns after four days married to the much older Paul. And, to cap it all, Stephen's belief that Andrew only returned because developers have offered a huge price for the pub is shattered when Andrew refuses to sell out.

Episode 6
25 mins
As Andrew vitalizes the pub, introducing French chef Juliet, Stephen believes he has exposed him as an impostor when he contacts Chris, a former foster child, who fails to recognize him. Stephen involves Alison in his mission, reuniting them, and confronts Andrew, revealing his criminal record in France with the help of Juliet. Unfortunately for Stephen, his victory is short-lived when it transpires that Laurie was not his father.
