Unfortunately, he is currently having sex with the only therapist he trusts: his best friend Kate. Since the number-one rule of therapy is not to have sexual relations with patients, Charlie must choose between his love of sex and his need for help.

Charlie makes fun of his ex Jennifer Goodson's Civil War period 'steamy' novel, yet learns seduction tips from it, but neither parents is amused when they find teen daughter Sam got inspired to brag about her alleged sexual experience in the study group she founded to prepare years ahead to get into an Ivy league college.

When Athena threatens him again, even nightmare group mate Lacey comes to the rescue, but sparing her motivates smitten Nolan to step up himself.

Charlie prepares everyone for the arrival of his hated father, describing him as a rude, uncaring tyrant, but Martin Goodson suddenly does everything right as grandpa and apparently loving father, which drives Charlie crazy, as he even has explanations for everything after accepting to a therapy session with Kate. Ultimately Charlie finds proof that's all lies and why Martin came from Ohio.
