A young girl is murdered near Opole. Terrifying body mutilations and marks left in place indicate ritual murder. Commissioner Agnieszka Polkowska is dealing with the matter. The extraordinary cruelty of the crime and the suspicion that the perpetrator might be a serial killer, Provincial Headquarters is interested. To her dissatisfaction, Polkowska is assigned to investigate Commissioner Tomasz Mrówiec. At that time, Piotr Wolnicki lectures on religious studies at the Opole University and lives with his family in a beautiful home. At the start of the new academic year, he chooses humble, intelligent Ewa Banach as his favorite student. Ewa does not know that her lecturer hides a dark secret.
