Episode 1
Bai Jue, cold and asocial but one of the four True Gods, is called back to the God realm and urged to teach Shangu. Neither party is particularly keen on the arrangement. However, various Goddesses are delighted at Bai Jue's return.
Episode 2
Bai Jue has three months to teach Shan Gu before the Gods need to meet with her predecessor, the creator and leader of the Devils. But before she can learn, he has to unlock her God Veins - a risky proposition for both of them.
Episode 3
Bai Jue is injured when he interferes in Shang Gu's divine trial so she insists on taking care of him. Xuan Yi initiates his plans and takes her to the netherworld where a battle between the Gods ensues. Shang Gu resents Bai Jue's methods.
Episode 4
Bai Jue seeks to repair the rift between him and Shang Gu while Tian Qi plans a dating event for the Gods specifically to confess his feelings to Shang Gu. Pu Hua and Yue Mi both contribute to the mischief that ensues.
Episode 5
Bai Jue admonishes Pu Hua for his love trap before carrying Shang Gu back to her home, which starts a lot of gossip. Shang Gu inquires about the nature of love then visits Bai Jue while tipsy. Bai Jue has a disturbing vision.
Episode 6
A jealous Snow Goddess challenges the naive Shang Gu. Bai Jue's assessment of the situation disregards Shang Gu's feelings. The Queen of Phoenix's story moves Shang Gu but Bai Jue is less tolerant.
Episode 7
Shang Gu is injured as Wu Xi lashes out but Bai Jue is unable to heal her until he obtains an artifact. Shang Gu chooses an unconventional divine beast. Zhi Yang is concerned about Shang Gu's projected progress.
Episode 8
Xuan Yi, though imprisoned, proposes teaching Shang Gu so Bai Jue revisits his premonition and worries over the options. Shang Gu chooses a disciple and schedules a duel with significant stakes. Trickery and jealousy and hi jinks occur.
Episode 9
Bai Jue offers to help with Gu Jun but cannot offer Shang Gu what she desires. Tian Qi plays up his injury and offers his heart. Shang Gu learns more of what her choices entail for the outside world. Xue Ying is determined to win.
Episode 10
Bai Jue's spirit watches over Shang Gu through her cultivation in the Netherworld even as Xuan Yi learns about the God Realm from her. Wu Han presides over Pilgrimage Hall in Shang Gu's absence. Yue Mi and Tian Qi miss her constantly.
Episode 11
Shang Gu returns to the God Realm midst an attack of creatures from the netherworld. Snow God is allowed to return as a reward for her efforts in the battle. Shang Gu seeks answers but Bai Jue continues to only be reticent.
Episode 12
Wu Huan worries about her future and prospects now that her 1000 year tenure is almost up. An elaborate ceremony is held for Shang Gu's role as Chief God but an out-of-character action derails the God Realm and Xuan Yi's plans.
Episode 13
Tian Qi plans to use the stolen feather to cause destruction but his real intent is to save Shang Gu. Demons and Gods battle while the world teeters on the brink of disaster.
Episode 14
Wu Huan's arrow misses its target but the stars fall. Tian Qi's determination doesn't waver. Shang Gu ponders the meaning behind the mess and Xuan Yi proceeds with his plan. Bai Jue finds a way to uncover Tian Qi's true motivation.
Episode 15
The Tribulation of Chaos begins.
Episode 16
Bai Jue grieves. Xuan Yi escapes and attacks the God Realm. 60,000 years after the battle, 3 gods exist in the Heavenly realm - and a new chapter starts.
Episode 17
Houchi has weak spiritual power yet dedicates all her time trying to cultivate it. When intruders visit the palace, Feng Ran decides to accept an invitation in order to confront their leader. Houchi accompanies her for her own reasons.
Episode 18
Houchi uses her bracelet to end a conflict brewing but the mystery of her and her bracelet catches the attention and curiosity of Qing Mu. Houchi and Feng Ran search for Bo Xuan. Qing Mu follows.
Episode 19
Qing Mu continues to look after Houchi, whether she likes it or not. Houchi uses her wits since she has little power. Jing Jian is sent to the Demon realm to negotiate. Feng Ran tries to find Houchi but encounters Jing Jian instead.
Episode 20
Houchi devises a ruse to get into the palace and Qing Mu plays along. Qing Mu dreams memories of Shang Gu, believing it is Houchi. Feng Ran and Jing Jian get tied together after Feng Ran gets him drunk.
Episode 21
Tian Qi encounters Houchi but is unsure if she is Shang Gu or just looks like Shang Gu. When Feng Ran is caught, Houchi negotiates with Sen Jian. The Taicang Spear suddenly reappears in the world, causing a furor.
Episode 22
The appearance of the Taicang spear causes both Demons and Immortals to go to Mount Lookout but Hongri's spirit guards it well. Hou Chi, disguised as a child, relishes insulting Jing Zhao.
Episode 23
The Taicang spear claims its master.
Episode 24
After learning that Tian Qi lives, Wu Huan schemes to make trouble to keep him weak. Jing Jian is dispatched to contact Qing Mu. Hou Chi's birthday is celebrated.
Episode 25
Qing Mu returns with Jing Jian to the Heavenly Palace but his rejection of the marriage isn't accepted. Jing Zhao visits Qingchi Palace to try to make Hou Chi believe otherwise. Jing Yang has disappeared and Qing Mu is sent to find him.
Episode 26
Jing Jian, Qing Mu, Hou Chi and Feng Ran run into each other in the Abysmal Swamp. Their pursuits conflict but they work together against the Three Headed Dragon. Hou Chi has visions when she encounters the statue of Yue Mi.
Episode 27
Qing Mu is dying from dragon's breath. Hou Chi pleads with the only people who can save him - Wu Huan and Mu Guang - but the obstacles in her way are heavy. The Pilgrimage Hall chooses an owner.
Episode 28
Without the dragon core, Jing Zhao is powerless, but she still makes trouble for Hou Chi and Qing Mu. Wu Huan seeks information about Hou Chi's origins now that Pilgrimage Hall chose her.
Episode 29
Wu Huan uses Jing Zhao's physical state as well as the event of her birthday to push Qing Mu into an untenable situation. A secret about Hou Chi is revealed but leads to more questions. Lightning strikes.
Episode 30
Gu Jun returns after the lightning strikes and heals Hou Chi. He shames Wu Huan and Mu Guang for their hypocrisy. He also flatly refuses to let Hou Chi marry.
Episode 31
Gu Jun reveals Hou Chi's origins. Wu Huan finds an avenue to cultivate her powers. Qing Mu follows Hou Chi into the Human Realm.
Episode 32
Hou Chi tries to help those she meets in the Human Realm - even when it means trying to stop the demons and immortals from fighting each other. Wu Huan objects. Qing Mu obtains the Twin Spear and has new visions.
Episode 33
Qing Mu takes Hou Chi to the North Sea to where he thinks Bo Xuan is. Tian Qi appears and goes with them. Wu Huan tasks the Three Headed Dragon with stealing the Twin Spear from them.
Episode 34
Hou Chi, Feng Ran and Qing Mu go after the three artifacts they need to help Bo Xuan - receiving unexpected help and additional hindrances along the way. Wu Huan sends Jing Yang to set free some captured evil on the Human Realm.
Episode 35
Tian Qi's willingness to help Hou Chi causes discontent among the Demons and rumors among the Immortals. Gun Jun tries to smooth things over with the Heavenly Palace but Hou Chi doesn't allow blame to be cast anywhere but on her.
Episode 36
Feng Ran gives a deadline for an answer. Bi Xi's life and mission are threatened. Tricks are played at the wedding. Jing Zhao tries to protect her brother and Jing Jian's loyalties are stretched.
Episode 37
Tian Qi faces a learning curve to try to take care of Hou Chi during her exile. Wu Huan has something to hide in the Parasol Forest, home of the Feng clan, where Mu Guang has sent Jing Jian. Dong Hua reports his speculation to Mu Guang.
Episode 38
Bai Jue has awakened. Feng Ran is accused of exterminating the Feng clan of Parasol Forest. Wu Huan is ordered to return to the Heavenly Palace. Hou Chi is pregnant.
Episode 39
Wu Huan visits Jing Zhao at The Dome. Hou Chi leaves the Hidden Mountain in order to confront Bai Jue and find a way to get Qing Mu back. Wu Huan plans. Gu Jun visits Bai Jue and reveals what was planned.
Episode 40
Feng Ran's origins and abandonment come out when she is captured. Wedding preparations are underway and Jing Zhao is delighted. Qing Mu leaves a message for Hou Chi with the fireflies of the North Sea.
Episode 41
The wedding is - dramatic.
Episode 42
Treachery, death, birth, back-stabbing, and politics with a bit of frankness thrown in. Happy Birthday Yuan Qi.
Episode 43
Wu Huan manipulates Mu Guang. Bai Jue and Tian Qi discuss a Tribulation of Chaos. Yuan Qi is hard to handle. Shang Gu wakes up without any of Hou Chi's memories and Tian Qi is deliberately obscure with her. Bai Jue is tepid towards her.
Episode 44
Tian Qi is embarrassed by gossip about how he used to comport himself. Shang Gu teaches Yuan Qi new tricks. Yuan Qi gets into unexpected trouble which leads to Shang Gu and Wu Huan meeting face to face after 60,000 years.
Episode 45
Shang Gu hears the name Houchi and begins to understand that things are being hidden from her. Yuan Qi turns out to be an excellent spy. Jing Zhao offers a deal. Bit by bit Bai Jue chips away at Shang Gu's love.
Episode 46
Shang Gu offers to be Yuan Qi's mother. Sen Yu and Jing Jian find spirit-drained Immortal guards just before both sides were set to withdraw. Wu Huan obtains God-level devil power then attacks Tian Qi and Bai Jue through nefarious means.
Episode 47
A battle begins and lives are lost. A trial reveals a false assumption that began the path Wu Huan took. Three days are granted. Shang Gu asks Bai Jue to return her memories but he denies having them. Mu Guang confesses.
Episode 48
Mu Guang makes a sacrifice. Wu Huan is punished and Jing Yuan is sent to the Human Realm. Bai Jue tries to explain and reconcile with Yuan Qi even though he knows what is coming. Shang Gu and Tian Qi open the God Realm and return there.
Episode 49
Shang Gu's memories return. Bai Jue uses chaos power to neutralize the tribulation. Shang Gu grieves, but sparks of hope appear for Feng Ran and Shang Gu starts to believe there might be hope for her as well.
