Forensic geologist Scott Wolter heads to ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming, to investigate Lorene Bolen's good luck charm, which may also be evidence the PHOENICIANS - ancient mariners from the Mediterranean - made it to North America more than 2,000 years ago. Scott's quest to figure out if the inscription found by a horseback-riding girl in the 1940s is legitimately Phoenician - and if the Phoenicians could have made it to America - takes him to an ancient petroglyph in the desert, a Phoenician replica boat in ENGLAND, and a historic copper mine in WYOMING. While Scott eventually learns the script on the stone isn't Phoenician, he digs up map evidence, which strongly suggests the Phoenicians and other ancient mariners traveled to the New World long before Columbus "discovered" it in 1492.
