In a distant future, in a dystopic society where people's consciousness and memories are stored in devices and then resleeved into another body, the Alcatraz prisoner Takeshi Kovacs is awakened 250 years after his death. He has recollections of his and his beloved companion Ava's deaths, and soon, he learns that the upper-class millionaire Laurens Bancroft is responsible for his awakening in a body of a strong man to investigate who has killed him.

He identifies the serial number of a weapon in a video and tracks down the owner, a former military soldier. Meanwhile Lt. Ortega uses a device to follow Kovacs's movements and whereabouts.

Kovacs decides to seek out Bancroft to learn why he was dropped into Riker's sleeve and Miriam tries to seduce him offering his freedom and a new sleeve if he stops his investigation. He refuses and heads to an infected area where Bancroft is and he explains why he selected that specific sleeve. Then he dies completely infected and is worshiped by the infected people while he is sleeved to another clone in a clean area. Poe gives a lead to Kovacs where Bancroft was on the night that he died. He goes with Ortega and they find a footage of Isaac and Bancroft, uncovering a secret.

Man with My Face

Kovacs takes Ortega to a hospital and uses Bancroft's credit to save and implant a new arm in Ortega. During her recovery, she learns the fate of her friend and partner Abboud and the unethical behavior of Captain Tanaka. Meanwhile Kovacs and Elliot head to Isaac's room and then they go to Bancrofts house where Kovacs discloses what his son did to him. When Kovacs and Ortega leaves the hospital, they are captured and sent to a cage, where they need to fight to save their lives.

He keeps Ortega far from him breaking her feelings but she feels that something is wrong. Ortega decides to seek out who the mysterious woman that saved them from Fight Drome and she meets an employee of Pyschlosec to put her in.

Reileen tries to lure Kovacs wearing Ortega's sleeve and tells him that she sent the ghost walker to kill Ortega's family since she destroyed her clones and cost her a lot of money. Kovacs unsuccessfully tries to stop the killer, but he arrives too late and everybody is murdered. Kovacs goes to his hotel and asks Ava, Vernon and Micky to change their IDs and leave the town since they are in danger. Kovacs makes a clone of himself using Isaac's 3D and finds his friends have not left the hotel since they want to help him. They plot a plan to Kovacs and Vernon go to the Head in the Cloud and destroy Reileen's clones with a virus and record her confession. Will their plan work?
Episode 10
The Killers

Reileen sends the ghost walker and her minions to the Raven Hotel to kill Kovacs' friends. They destroy Poe, kill Micky and bring Ava with them to the Head in the Cloud. However Poe sends Lizzie to the Head in the Cloud before he is destroyed. She sleeves to a synthetic body and helps her parents, Kovacs and Ortega to fight Reileen, the ghost walker and the other gangsters.
