Agatha Raisin returns to the Cotswold quite heartbroken after following the love of her life to Cypress. Her circle of single friends have made a pact to swear off men and start singles ladies club. Unfortunately there is an newcomer in the community who has an annoying dog and does not like Agatha. Agatha decides to get a new look and goes to a new salon in Evesham where she meets an enchanting hair stylist named Johnny. He is very charming and asks her out on a date. She doesn't refuse. But there is more to this wizard of hair than meets the eye. After going on a date, one of her friends runs out of the restaurant in fear, and Agatha swears she was afraid when she saw Johnny. As she continues to see him at the salon, she starts to notice that he is very friendly to his other clients, but quite harsh with his shampoo boy Gaz. Something is not right. Looks like Agatha will have to investigate another murder when Johnny is poisoned soon after and decide if it's time for her to move on from James and take someone else into her heart.
