Snowdonia

In this land of the most spectacular mountain landscape in Wales, Griff is challenged to find a Snowdon Lily - one of the rarest plants in the world.

Gower

Griff is set the challenge to prepare a feast with Gower peninsula ingredients for a local rugby hero and chooses Terry Davies, with whom he discusses that Welsh sports obsession. A visit to an abandoned cliff cave-excavated dove cote yields to produce, but sifting the beach for mollusks does, and a farmer breeds the famous salt flora-fed lamb.

Pembrokeshire

Griff is set the task of walking a Pembrokeshir corgi, a dog breed which herding cattle by biting at the feet. The beautiful county has a long tradition of dairy, but also a curious concentration of derelict 'antique', such as rusting old-timer cars. Griff finds corgis are abundant, but now often kept as pets for dog shows, which are taken painfully seriously, so his brief exercise proves abysmally insufficient.

Anglesey

Anglesey, Wales's largest island by far, is also its traditional food producing champion, notably for grains and fish, as an ingenious monumental trap on a tiny coastal island demonstrates. Griff's mission is to spot puffins, but even on the island named after the species, they are crowded out by various other maritime bids since South American rats escaped from a wrecked ship ravaged their nests. Griffing enjoys admiring the natural beauty and windmills on his journey trough the quiet, varied coastal landscape, despite lack of puffins until after he climbed pointlessly a no longer manned lighthouse.

Mid Wales

Griff is in Mid Wales, a land of forests, once rich mines and ancient legends. His challenge, a quest for the Holy Grail, leads him to the subterranean World War II depositary of British national treasures, now abandoned, and the estate where an allegedly miraculous Cup is kept, reputed to be the Grail.

Episode 6

Conwy

Griff is in Conwy, the sunken former land bridge between Wales and Ireland, rich in beach resorts, which he lazily tries out. His assignment, finding an authentic Welsh dresser, has a prelude, witnessing an oak being harvested by a carpenter. Then he chases the traditional heirloom and showoff furniture in shops, where they became rare and too pricey as coveted antiques.

Border

Griff travels to the Border region of Wales where he walks across the top of the Severn Bridge, canoes up the River Wye and is challenged to perform the Welsh National Anthem.

Brecon Beacons

In the last episode of the series, Griff heads off to the Brecon Beacons, a huge area of national park in Wales where he takes to the air in a glider, learns about the area's second hand bookshops and is challenged to take a wild swim in a mountain lake.
