The popular journalist Oleg Sorokin gets on the trail of a strange organization engineering killings of country's richest people. At the same time their bank accounts get emptied. The truth is that the powerful organization does not kill its wealthy clients, but helps them to escape persecution in the most reliable way, changing their appearance and staging their death. According to Sorokin, the next «victim» is going to be the banker Lyadov. After Lyadov's «death» in an explosion Oleg is driven by the desire to uncover the criminal plan and become famous. So he continues the investigation together with detective Marina Zaretskaya. The protagonist gets involved in a whirlpool of shoot-outs, kidnappings and murders, even getting accused of one of the killings. Will he manage to survive and reveal the organization's crimes?
