48 Hours examines the September 2011 death of Karla Brada in Santa Clarita, California. She was killed by her fiancé Eric Earle she first met at Alcoholics Anonymous. Earle had a long criminal history which included charges of domestic violence. He was convicted of beating and asphyxiating Karla to death. Ultimately, he was sentences to twenty-six years to life in prison.

During the trial, an unusual outburst by Todd leads some to think that he is mental ill while others are convinced he is faking.

She is sentenced to forty years in prison.

A friend Sheila Trott claims to have had a clairvoyant vision of the murder, but police eventually suspect her for the crime. She is arrested and convicted by prosecutors who argue that she committed the murder because she believed Kelly was sleeping with her husband.

In the summer of 1979, Catherine Janet Walsh was 23 years old and living alone for the first time. On Aug. 31, Janet, as she was called by friends and family, was heading out for a night on the town with a group of girlfriends. The next day Walsh's parents discovered their daughter dead in the bedroom of her Monaca home. She lay face-down on her bed wearing a blue nightshirt. Her hands were bound behind her back with rope from a bathrobe, and tied around her neck was a handkerchief. At the time, there were no signs of semen stains or recent sexual activity. The case wasn't revisited until around 2011. This case involved more than six suspects. Eventually one of her sexual partners was arrested for murder because of semen samples discovered at the scene of the crime with modern DNA technology... many sources fail to mention the semen from her ex-husband and another unknown semen sample were also found.
