Episode 1
Body in the Grass

A member of the public walking his dog discovers the dead body of a woman in long-grass to the rear of houses and alerts the police. It seems that a broken bottle found at the scene has been used to cut her throat. It appears that she has bled to death and as a forensics team comb the area for clues, detectives from the Major Crime Unit begin conducting house-to-house enquiries. They speak to a lady living in one of the houses overlooking the site who tells them that she saw the woman alone and crouching down in the grass as if she were hiding. A distinctive eyebrow piercing helps police to identify the victim as 45-year-old Sharon Fade who has been living with her partner Dean Robinson. The finger of suspicion begins to point towards her partner after officers who visit him to inform him of Sharon's death report back that he is one of the strangest individuals they have ever encountered and Sharon's family describe him as a "Walter Mitty" character and very controlling. Detectives arrest Dean and bring him in for questioning and his continuing unusual behaviour and evidence of his controlling nature make him the chief suspect. However, as detectives uncover more details of Sharon's tragic life a different hypothesis begins to emerge regarding her death and one that ultimately forensic evidence will prove to be correct.
