Beth Does What She Does Best (Be Really Vicious) in This Yellowstone Exclusive

Yellowstone writer-director Taylor Sheridan gives all his best lines to Beth Dutton, the merciless daughter of rancher John Dutton, and Kelly Reilly tears into the dialogue with the ferocity of a wolf taking down an elk. And in this clip, Beth is back on her B.S. as she threatens the governor of Montana.

The governor, Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz), is sleeping with John (Kevin Costner), and Beth doesn't approve. Beth and her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) have gone to meet with Perry to work out some details about Jamie's political campaign, and Beth is sabotaging the meeting with her insolent commentary. So Perry sends everyone else out of the room to talk to Beth privately.

Perry knows Beth's sore spot -- her guilt over her mother's death -- and tries to use it to put her in her place. After all, Perry's the governor, and Beth's just a rich man's alcoholic daughter. Or so she thinks. What Beth really is is a verbal assassin. There's no bullying this bully. Beth came here to say something.

"Men don't think like us," she says. "Too simple to weigh the significance of every act. My father just wants to forget. But not you. You want to piss in every corner and make those corners yours. Affairs happen in hotels, not homes."

"You need to look closer when you look at me, Lynelle," she spits. "I ruin careers for a living. You sleep in my mother's bed again, and I will ruin yours. Ruin it. Got it?" And that fake-cute little singsong note she puts on "got it?" is why Kelly Reilly is the best part of this show.
