Wizards of Waverly Place's werewolf-wizard couple will face some trying times when the show returns for Season 4 on Friday.

"Mason and Alex have bumpy roads ahead of them, but the love is stronger than ever — and the makeup is hairier than ever," Gregg Sulkin, who plays Mason, tells TVGuide.com.

Besides playing Selena Gomez's on-screen boyfriend, the British actor has kept busy  by perfecting his American accent and football skills for the Disney Channel original movie Avalon High. In the film,  Allie Pennington (Life Unexpected's Britt Robertson) suddenly discovers that her classmates at her new school are reincarnations of King Arthur's Court. "There's a nice love triangle and a nice big twist at the end," Sulkin says.
