Wilmer Valderrama Joins _NCIS_ As Series Regular

Wilmer Valderrama has joined the cast of NCISas a series regular, CBS announced Thursday.

According to the network, Valderrama will play "a once grounded NCIS field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced. Now, he's back and his dedication to job and country has left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon." CBS did not reveal the character's name.

This news is the latest addition to Valderrama's growing list of dramatic work that includes appearances on Grey's Anatomy, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and Minority Report.

Valderrama's hiring may help fill the void following the departure of original character Michael Weatherly's Anthony Dinozzo, who left the series after 13 years last season.
