The Kansas City Chiefs have been on the tip of everyone's tongues in recent years and The Kingdom is about to show us exactly why. The new ESPN Original Series, produced by the folks behind The Last Dance, charts both the Chiefs' 2024 season and the 65-year saga that turned a scrappy AFL team into an NFL juggernaut. You'll see Super Bowl rings, emotional throwbacks, mic'd-up locker room moments, and all the Mahomes-Kelce-Reid magic that's made Chiefs Kingdom a full-blown empire. The show premieres Aug. 14 at 9/8c on ESPN and will be available to stream in full on ESPN Unlimited and Disney+.

The Kingdom

ESPN

If you caught Travis Kelce cracking jokes in Happy Gilmore 2 or spotted Taylor Swift cheering in a red jersey last season, just know The Kingdom doesn't skip the good stuff. The docuseries puts viewers inside the team's franchise-record 15-win season, a third-straight AFC Championship, and their trip to, of course, yet another Super Bowl. There's no shying away from the heartbreak, the pressure, or the mess that comes with trying to stay on top of it all even when the entire league is gunning for you.

But The Kingdom doesn't just live in the now. It throws itself into the Chiefs' origins, back when Lamar Hunt brought the team to life in Dallas. Yep, the early days of it all. From seasons where the team was left utterly demolished to every single championship high ever since, this series shows us that no, it's not just about stats and trophies, it's about how the Chiefs became a full-on identity, both on the field and off.

If you want to catch it live, episodes one and two premiere Aug. 14 at 9/8c on ESPN. But if you're more of a binge-now, rewind-later type, the full series will drop that same day on ESPN Unlimited and Disney+. No cable? No problem. The Kingdom will also be streamable with Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and more. Don't sleep on it, though, this one's bound to spark some strong opinions in your football-loving crew.
