The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide are no strangers to high-stakes football games in December and January. These are perennial championship contenders and arguably the two most dominant teams in the SEC. Alabama won the regular season matchup in September, but that was a long time ago. Alabama has stumbled a bit down the stretch, while Georgia hasn't lost a game since.

Even after Alabama made the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer, Kirby Smart's Bulldogs have struggled against the Tide. Smart is just 1-7 against Alabama, with his one win coming in the 2022 National Championship Game. Given their track record of success against Georgia, Alabama should have a chip on their shoulder after opening as 2.5-point underdogs.

While Georgia will make the playoffs win or lose, Alabama is in a precarious position heading into the SEC Championship Game. They'll clinch a spot with a win, but a loss would hurt their playoff chances. Although the selection committee doesn't typically hold conference title game losses against teams, Alabama already has two losses on the season.

The SEC Championship Game is a highly anticipated rematch with massive playoff implications. You can watch Georgia vs Alabama on ESPN UnlimitedDIRECTV STREAMSling TV, and more on Dec. 6.
