It's safe to say that so far, the first two Dune movies are some of the best science fiction movies in history. After Dune's release back in 2021, fans heavily anticipated its promised sequel. Dune: Part Two stormed into theaters earlier this year, and the box office went absolutely wild. In just 10 days, it surpassed the total earnings of the previous film, quickly securing its spot as one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.

While we have to wait until Dec. 2026 for the third installment, Dune Messiah, fans are itching for more Dune-related content on our TV screens. Luckily, we've got a new prequel series to satiate us in the meantime. It's time to learn where to watch Dune: Prophecy.

Dune: Prophecy is a little different from the original Dune book series. For those unfamiliar, Frank Herbert, the author of the Dune book series, passed away in 1986 before he could complete the saga. He wrote five sequels to the original, but the story was ultimately finished by his son, Brian Herbert, along with author Kevin J. Anderson. Together, they expanded the Dune universe to over a dozen books, including the prequel Sisterhood of Dune, which this TV series is based on.

The series is set a whopping 10,000 years before anyone even murmured the name "Paul Atreides." Early reviews are positive, and we know that it centers on sisters Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams) as they confront powerful forces that could mess up the future of humanity. Ultimately, they find the legendary order known as the Bene Gesserit to help save the world they know. While it will include a majority of what goes on in the Sisterhood of Dune prelude, it's not going to be a direct adaptation. So, if you've read it, don't be shocked if some things are left out.

In total, the series will consist of six episodes total, hitting screens on Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. ET. The series will premiere on HBO and Max, so you'll need either a live streaming service with HBO or a Max subscription to watch.
