Doctor Who Season 2

Disney

Now, before you start questioning your reality — no, you didn't time travel back to 1963. This is the new Doctor Who, a continuation of the long-running series but also a fresh era, so much so that Disney+ and the BBC are calling this Season 2 instead of, you know, Season 14 (after it came back on our television screens in '05 after stopping in '89). This latest run is being treated as a new generation of the show, marking a big moment for the franchise.

Leading the charge is Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, bringing a whole new energy (and some seriously good outfits) to the role. He's also the first Black and openly queer Doctor, making history in a show that's always thrived on change. Season 2 kicks off with the Doctor teaming up with Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) on a quest to get her back to Earth. Sounds easy enough, except for the part where mysterious forces, terrifying enemies, and universe-shaking dangers stand in the way.

Something else exciting? Alan Cumming is set to make his return to the TARDIS in Episode 2 as Mr. Ring-a-Ding, a happy-go-lucky cartoon character from a place called Sunny Town.

If you want to follow every twist, turn, and slightly terrifying animated villain, you'll need a Disney+ subscription. And if you need a refresher, Season 1 is still there, waiting to remind you of all the chaos that led up to this point. So, get ready — it's going to be a wild ride.

And, if you're interested in watching the original Doctor Who series, check out BritBox available as an add-on to Prime Video. This streaming service has most episodes of the hit series.
