See the mogul as you've never seen her before
Oprah Winfrey shared the trailer for Greenleaf, the upcoming OWN series she's executive-producing and starring in, on social media Tuesday.
Greenleaf is an hourlong scripted drama created by veteran writer/producer Craig Wright. It stars Merle Dandridge as Grace Greenleaf, a jaded preacher and prodigal daughter who returns to the Memphis megachurch run by her parents, played by Keith David and Lynn Whitfield. In a recurring role, Winfrey plays Grace's aunt Mavis, a gritty and manipulative blues club owner. (The character is called a "whore" in the trailer.) It's Oprah's first recurring scripted series role since 1990's Brewster Place.

Greenleaf will premiere have a two-night premiere Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 22 at 10/9c on OWN, with new episodes airing Wednesdays at 10/9c for the rest of the season.
