Three years after CSI: NY ended its nine-year run, Gary Sinise will be back on TV next month on Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
"I can't say I was out there on the hunt for a new series, but this kind of came to me in a very organic way," Sinise tells TVGuide.com in the video above.
Why Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders won't be another Suspect Behavior
That's because the actor is pals with Criminal Minds star Joe Mantegna, who introduced him to executive producer Erica Messer two years ago. When it came time to cast International Unit Chief Jack Garrett on the globe-trotting spin-off, Messer had one person in mind.
