"It would be cool if they each had partners, like a savory and pastry chef teamed up together in pairs, sort of like Amazing Race-style," Just Desserts host (and Top Chef judge) Gail Simmons tells TVGuide.com. "[They could do] all the challenges together and every challenge they have to do a savory and a pastry [dish]."Head judge Johnny Iuzzini, however, has his own idea in mind that has nothing to do with the cheftestants: "Me and Tom [Colicchio] versus you and Padma [Lakshimi]."
