Pepsi has recruited Grammy winner Justin Timberlake to star in a Super Bowl commercial that will kick off a year-long, $1 billion giveaway of MP3s, CDs, videos, consumer electronics and other items on Amazon.com, the AP reports. It is hoped that "Pepsi Stuff," which represents the soda popper's largest marketing effort ever, will take Amazon's five-month-old MP3-download service to the next level and position it as a mighty challenger to iTunes. In Amazon's favor is a DRM-free mandate, which means its music downloads aren't burdened by copying and sharing restrictions, as iTunes buys are.
