The Walking Dead's Two New Characters Sound Awfully Familiar

Walkers gotta eat! The Walking Deadis adding a couple new characters for zombies to munch on in the upcoming Season 7, and both sound like they were modeled on characters we've seen before.

According to TV Line, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of unhappy survivors -- minus one, depending on who Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) finishes off -- will run into Naomi and Jennie, both of whom aren't based on characters from the comics or any of the other Walking Dead franchises, unless they were renamed or are amalgams of other characters.

Naomi is described as a "grandmotherly type" who has outlived many of her loved ones and has vowed to do whatever it takes to not bury any more. Sounds like a similar track that Carol (Melissa McBride) took, eh? And look out Carl (Chandler Riggs), Jennie is a teenager who is kind and positive, but is also toughened up from the apocalypse. Let's just call her the anti-Enid or Beth 2.0.

Both characters will join The Walking Dead in the sixth episode of Season 7, and neither role has been cast yet. Take your bets on when they'll be eaten!

The Walking Dead is expected to return this October on AMC.
