Our return to Mystic Falls is still a couple of months away, but it looks like yet another familiar face from The Vampire Diaries is set to appear in the new spin-off, Legacies! Long-time fave and former Mystic Falls resident Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) will be paying a visit to The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted very soon!

TVLine reports that McQueen has signed on to guest star in the series' third episode, though there's no news on whether he'll appear for any more episodes than that. After leaving the show in Season 6, Jeremy appeared on The Vampire Diaries' series finale at the school, seemingly as an instructor. Given his history with the supernatural and his experience as a hunter in the years since leaving Mystic Falls, it made sense that Caroline (Candice King) would have recruited Jeremy to help shape the young minds of witches, vampires and werewolves alike.

Julie Plec also confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that Sheriff Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) would also appear in the Legacies pilot this fall. With two guest appearances from original Vampire Diaries actors already on the books, this spin-off is shaping up to be a true tribute to the mother show!

Legacies: Everything We Know About The Originals Spin-Off

Unfortunately, one star you can probably count out of a guest appearance is Kat Graham, who played Bonnie Bennett for all eight seasons of The Vampire Dairies. She recently told reporters that while she's very grateful for her time on the original show, she's not interested in reprising her role or appearing Legacies. Bummer.

Legacies premieresThursday, October 25 at 9/8c on The CW.
