Here's the next story by Elin Hilderbrand that we're expecting to be adapted

Nicole Kidman, The Perfect Couple
NetflixIt's hardly surprising that The Perfect Couple was Netflix's second most-viewed series in the latter half of 2024. The glossy whodunnit had a gripping premise — a murder taking place right before the biggest wedding of the season in Nantucket — as well as an impressive ensemble cast led by Nicole Kidman and a fast-paced story packaged into six bingeable episodes.
Netflix has not officially made an announcement about a second season of The Perfect Couple, which was launched as a limited series. But there have been multiple reports, from outlets like Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter, that a second installment is in the works. And given the popularity of The Perfect Couple Season 1, we'd be shocked if the streamer had no further plans for this series based on Elin Hilderbrand's writing.
The first season adapted Hilderbrand's 2018 novel of the same name. If a renewal is confirmed, The Perfect Couple is expected to become an anthology series, with the next season adapting a different novel from the author.
Here's everything we know so far about The Perfect Couple Season 2, including which Hilderbrand story it could be based on and who's going to be in the cast.
On March 12, Deadline reported that Netflix is developing The Perfect Couple Season 2 and that it will be based on Hilderbrand's 2024 novel Swan Song. Like the novel that inspired the show's first season, Swan Song is set in Nantucket. It follows the Richardson family, who buy a $22 million summer home and begin to connect with the locals through the extravagant parties they host. But the glamour of the Richardsons fades when their home mysteriously burns to the ground and the family's key employee disappears.
Netflix declined to comment on Deadline's report, which was also the case for reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

The Perfect Couple Season 2 is reportedly set to have a new showrunner. Per Deadline, Joanna Calo, co-showrunner ofThe Bear, is attached to write and showrun the next chapter. Season 1 was showrun by Jenna Lamia.
According to Deadline, most of Season 1's executive producing team — including Kidman, Susanne Bier, Gail Berman, Shawn Levy, Per Saari, and Hend Baghdady — will be returning.

Eve Hewson and Meghann Fahy, The Perfect Couple
Hilary Bronwyn Gayle/NetflixIn The Perfect Couple's Season 1 finale, the truth about Merritt Monaco's (Meghann Fahy) death finally surfaces. Abby Winbury (Dakota Fanning) is revealed to have killed the maid of honor because Merritt was secretly pregnant with Tag's (Liev Schreiber) child. The baby would complicate things because Abby was expecting to receive the family's trust fund money when the youngest Winbury, Will (Sam Nivola), turned 18. But Merritt giving birth would mean that Abby and her husband, Thomas (Jack Reynor), would have to wait another 18 years to get their hands on the cash.
We're expecting an entirely new cast for The Perfect Couple Season 2. According to Deadline, Leslee and Bill Richardson — who are at the center of Hilderbrand's Swan Song — are "spiritual successors to Season 1's Greer and Tag Winbury." Another major character the show will have to cast is Ed Kapenash, the chief of police on Nantucket, who's forced to postpone his retirement and take on the case after the Richardsons' house burns down.
The Perfect Couple Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
