Sometimes we can have nice things
As soothing as those lengthy yule log videos may be around the holidays -- especially those that involve Nick Offerman and a smooth cup of whiskey -- NBC's The Good Placejust put them all to shame. Turns out, the show really is ready to take us to the eponymous heavenly locale in 2019, starting with this transfixing five-hour video of Janet (D'Arcy Carden) hanging out in her Void and doing... well, nothing except serving up that pursed-lip grin and all the sass and worldly knowledge that comes with it.
Without a single word or action or even so much as a background, Janet's simple stoic presence is enough to fill all the space of this Void and then some.
The video was streamed live on Friday to drum up some more excitement for the return of the show's third season in the New Year, and fans were teased: "What does Janet do by her lonesome in her void? The answer will blow your forkin' mind." Indeed.
It's almost as palliative as watching Ted Danson learn to do the Floss on set. Almost.
The Good Place returns to NBC on Thursday, Jan. 10 with "The Book of Dougs" at 9:30/8:30c.
