The Hawaii Five-0 vet will recur on the ABC medical drama
We've been waiting for this! The Good Doctor executive producer Daniel Dae Kim will be stepping in front of the camera for a four-episode arc on the ABC medical drama later this season, Deadline reports and TV Guide can confirm.
Kim will play Dr. Jackson Han, a new Chief of Surgery at St. Bonaventure. Dr. Han's brash new operating procedures (get it?) will cause friction at the hospital in general and with Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) in particular. He will make his debut in Episode 15 and will appear in the last four episodes of The Good Doctor's 18-episode second season. It will be Kim's first TV acting role since he left Hawaii Five-0 in 2017. No word yet on whether or not he'll join the Good Doctor cast full-time in Season 3.
Kim is an executive producer on the series, and played a major role in identifying and importing the Korean format on which The Good Doctor is based. Ever since he left Hawaii Five-0, anticipation of him appearing on The Good Doctor has only built, and now it's finally happening.
