Netflix's Temptation Island: Which Couples Are Still Together?

[Warning: Spoilers for Netflix's Temptation Island follow. Read at your own risk!]

Just a few weeks ago, we thought Netflix's Love is Blind was as dramatic as reality TV could get. Now, all of that has changed with the reintroduction of Temptation Island. The reality dating series is a reboot of the 2001 show that first aired on Fox and was revived on the USA network in 2019, and now moves to Netflix with four new couples, the same morally questionable premise, and the expected amount of cheating, tears, and maybe even love. 

If you need a refresher, Temptation Island goes like this: Instead of coming to a tropical island with the express purpose of finding love, four couples come to the island with the idea of proving that their love can withstand temptation. The couples are then split up into two villas — men in one, women in the other — and a group of opposite-sex single-and-ready-to-mingle "tempters" move in with them. Each day, the participants go on dates with the singles to see if their relationships are strong enough to resist the advances of the tempters, or if they'd rather forge something new — even if it is incredibly temporary — with one of the singles.

The four couples this season, technically Season 9, are Ashley and Grant, who have been dating for one and a half years, Alexa and Lino, who have been dating for three and a half years, Brion and Shanté, who have been dating for one year, and Tayler and Tyler, who have been dating for two and a half years. The 10 episodes were released in one big batch instead of in a staggered release like Love is Blind, which means that we experienced all the emotions at once and were left with a lot of questions at the end of our binge.

By the time the show was over we'd witnessed a threesome, two very messy breakups, both shower sex and tent sex, a great deal of tears, two new couples who chose to leave the island together, and even one engagement. But where are the original couples now? Who is still together from Netflix's Temptation Island? We break it down.

Brion and Shanté

Status: Still together

Brion, a 26-year-old financial advisor, and Shanté, a 29-year-old account executive, came to the island so Brion could prove that he could have female friendships that were just that, friendships. But after Brion had a threesome with two women on the island — something he'd talked about wanting to do ever since he was first introduced — it didn't seem like the two would walk out together. But in the final bonfire, Shanté forgave him and gave him a chance to build back the trust.

The two are still together to this day, and Brion credits the relationship they have now to the growth he achieved on the island. "I never had time to sit by myself and figure out, how my childhood affected me," Brion told TV Guide. "I kind of used things as a distraction. And the distraction is physical, right? It's sex. But the island forces you to sit with yourself. It's forced therapy. I never had therapy." But Brion says it's all in the past. "I haven't brought up a threesome since the show. I won't do it again. It's just not something I'm into. I don't want another woman besides Shanté. But I hope people can learn from me and maybe learn from Shanté too. People deserve second chances sometimes. She really is an incredible woman and girlfriend."

As for Shanté, she confirmed that she feels she made the right decision, and Brion proves it every day. "Brion and I have been best friends longer than us being in a relationship," she told TV Guide. "So, I just know and knew in that moment that there was a lot more to both of us." And it's something Brion has been proving every day. "Even from that night of leaving the island, I was like, 'You sit on that side of the room, I'll sit on this side of the room, and we're going to talk this all the way out.' And that type of conversation has continued throughout our entire relationship since. So, he's done a really good job at kind of just, like, taking accountability for what happened on the show or even just things that he's learned since the show for himself, as have I."

Grant and Ashley

Status: Not together, but they momentarily reconnected

Grant, a 28-year-old business owner, and Ashley, a 28-year-old accountant, come into the island after a relationship that has been on-again and off-again for a year and a half. Grant cheated on Ashley a month into their relationship, which gave Ashley trust issues, and Grant came in determined to prove he could resist temptation. Spoiler alert, he couldn't, as he became the first to cheat, something he only regrets because of the timing. "I feel like it was bad to do it in that moment, because it was being filmed and she [Ashley] would see it," Grant admitted to TV Guide in an interview. "If there weren't any cameras, no I don't regret it." At the final bonfire, he forgave her for belittling him and forgave himself for everything he did. Ashley, meanwhile, admitted she was relieved the relationship was over and chose to leave the island with Danny, while Grant left alone.

Today, however, Ashley isn't with Danny anymore. Instead, she shared with us that the relationship with Danny "fizzled out" after the show and she is "single now." She also shared that she was in contact with Grant after the show, and they even "tried to figure things out," but what happened on the island was just "not something we were ever going to come back from." For Ashley, the show ended up being "a reflection of who he [Grant] is and how he acts in general."

As for Grant, he shared that he did reconnect with Natalie, the temptress he hooked up with on the show, after Temptation Island, and he shared that things between him and Ashley didn't get better after the final episode, even though they also reconnected. "We got to a point where we could talk, but she to this day has never looked at me as an equally imperfect person. Even after the show, I had a relationship and somehow, she's still convinced that that is different than her leaving the island with someone else and her trying to pursue relationships with these other guys. No matter what I do, I am always beneath."

Lino and Alexa

Status: Still together

Alexa, a 28-year-old labor and delivery travel nurse, and Lino, a 28-year-old personal trainer, have been together for three and half years since their gym crush turned into a relationship. They came to the island because Alexa was ready for the next step, but Lino still felt second best in their relationship. However, the couple barely had any hiccups in Temptation Island and came out of the show not just happily together, but engaged, as Lino proposed.

It looks like the love has flourished after the island, too. Alexa and Lino still follow each other on Instagram, and they were sharing photos of a trip to Italy up to October of last year, months after the show was filmed and the two got engaged. They've also kept quite a few pictures of each other on both of their Instagrams, looking quite happy and loved, a pretty telling sign for the one couple who had no hiccups on the island. And hey, Temptation Island needed at least one success story, right?

Tyler and Tayler

Status: Not together

Tyler, a 27-year-old model, and Tayler, a 30-year-old personal trainer, came to the island because Tayler was looking for emotional and economic security from her partner, who has "fallen into temptation" in the past. But Tyler formed an emotional connection with one of the girls in the men's villa from what seemed like day one, and never really looked back. So, it's no surprise that at the final bonfire, Tyler chose to leave with Kay and Tayler chose herself.

It's also no surprise that it seems like these days, Tyler and Kay might not be together anymore. Kay posted a TikTok in January that she captioned "Leaving bc he deserves less and my dog deserves better," and in March she celebrated moving into a new apartment with another video with a text that read "an apartment he's never been in," with the caption reading "Air feeling fresher." Ouch.

As for Tayler, she has a new hair color, but does she have a new man? As of March 18 she hasn't posted anything on Instagram to indicate her current relationship status, but she has posted a few Instagram Stories with Yamen Sanders, and the two casually went Live after supposedly running into each other. The Live has now disappeared from Instagram, but someone shared it on TikTok, and Yamen repeatedly says they just happened to be in the same place at the same time. But it's enough to have fans speculating that the connection they developed back on the island could have developed into something more — even though she chose not to leave the island with him at the time and just explore things on her own time.
