This is the repeat where Dean's dying and then healed; a wicked, wicked preacher's wife uses a reaper to play God with her husband's sudden healing powers; and Sam gets to play the overprotective bro for a change. Is it wrong that I loved to see Sammy take charge and be the one who had to do the lying? He gave the hospital a fake insurance card (Name: Mr. Berkowitz) and fed the cops a fake story. Plus, Dean dealing with survivor's guilt while seeing Darla from Angel struggle with not getting healed gave us plenty of angst. I know the story in this episode has nothing to do with the show's big picture, but Sam called his dad to tell him the news of his son dying. We never heard boo about this from Dad, not even when the boys hooked up with him recently in "Shadow." I need a little follow-through on this one, guys. Top five favorite lines: 1) "Have you ever watched daytime TV? It's terrible." 2) "You're not gonna let me die in peace, are you?" "I'm not gonna let you die, period." 3) "You better take care of my car or I swear I'll haunt your ass." 4) "I know it's not easy, but I'm gonna die and you can't stop it." "Watch me." 5) "What did you see in my heart?" "A young man with an important purpose and a job to do. And it isn't finished." And honorable mention goes to the line about Dean wanting to hunt down the fabric-softener teddy bear.
