See how long we'll have to wait for more BB-8
We're going to have to wait a little bit longer for Star Wars: Episode VIII. According toThe Hollywood Reporter, the anticipated sequel will now hit theaters on Dec.15, 2017.
Episode VIII, to be directed by Rian Johnson, was originally slated for a May 26, 2017, release, meaning Star Warswill once again dominate the Christmas box office instead of the summer one.
However, that doesn't mean we'll have to wait all the way until the end of 2017 before we get a new Star Wars film.Rogue One, the spin-off movie starring Felicity Jones, will be released on Dec. 16, 2016. Then, a few months after Episode VIII, the young Han Solo movie will be released on May 25, 2018. The new Star Wars trilogy will then conclude with Episode IX in 2019.
