Lupita Nyong'oAccording to The Wrap, the 12 Years a Slave star met with Abrams a few weeks before she nabbed the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Nyong'o is supposedly in talks for the female lead, with some theorizing that she might fill the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi's descendant, who has been described as non-Caucasian.

Adam DriverThe Girls star is reportedly close to signing on to play the film's villain, who will be in the vein of Darth Vader, Variety reports.

Jesse PlemonsAbrams confirmed to The Wrap that he has spoken to the Breaking Bad and Friday Night Lights alum. There's even speculation that Plemons' potential role would be Luke Skywalker's son or trainee.
