The news of The CW's acquisition of off-season streaming rights to Schitt's Creek was announced Sunday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "We love everything about Schitt's Creek -- the comedy acting, writing, as well as the show's binge-ability, all of which are perfect for the CW Seed audience. We're excited to help expand the awareness and hope to generation new fans of this brilliant series on our free, ad-supported platform," said Rick Haskins, executive vice president for The CW.
Moira Rose would certainly be thrilled about the additional exposure!
The Schitt's Creek Holiday Special Is Finally on Netflix
Schitt's Creek has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years, especially once the Canadian half-hour comedy became available to stream on Netflix. It also experienced audience growth thanks to word-of-mouth support. Now, both Netflix and CW Seed (available online or through the app on streaming devices) have the first four seasons available in their libraries.
For those fans who want to re-watch David (Dan Levy) and Patrick's (Noah Reid) swooniest moments from Season 5, though, visit Pop TV's digital site.
Schitt's Creek will return for its sixth and final season in 2020 on Pop.
