Lifetime announced the project last week. The movie, airing Sept. 1, will shine a light on the behind-the-scenes stories and gossip from Saved by the Bell. The six actors who will play the primary roles in the film were chosen by Saved by the Bell's original casting director, Robin Lippin, according to Buzzfeed. They are: Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth (Shameless) as Diamond, Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) as Elizabeth Berkley, Julian Works as Mario Lopez, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, and Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies.
