Rob Riggle Joins Team Spitz for CBS

Rob Riggle is joining Team Spitz for CBS, Variety reports.

The Daily Show alum, 39, will star as a pompous high school football coach in the comedy pilot. Riggle, who most recently appeared on the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried, signed a talent deal with the network back in 2008.

Team Spitz's executive producers include Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, whose credits include Hank; Peter Principato and Paul Young, both from Reno 911!; and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, whose work together includes Brothers and Two and a Half Men.
