But the show must go on
Brennin Hunt, one of the stars of Fox's live production of Rent, was injured Saturday night during a dress rehearsal of the musical.
In a statement, Fox confirmed to TV Guide: "Last night during a live performance of Fox's production of Rent, one of the actors, Brennin Hunt, was injured. But in the spirit of Rent, everyone - producers and cast, original and current -- is dedicated to ensuring that tonight's broadcast must, and will, go on."
The injury -- a rolled ankle, per The Hollywood Reporter -- happened as he was leaving the stage after performing "What You Own" and before the performers came back for the "Your Eyes" performance. Rather than participate in the final choreography, Hunt remained seated. He was taken to the hospital following the dress rehearsal.
It's unclear the degree to which Hunt's injury will affect Sunday's show. Hunt portrays one of the male leads, Roger Davis, a struggling musician who has been diagnosed with HIV. THR reports that Fox will sub in some taped segments from the dress rehearsal during Sunday's broadcast.
Rent will still air Sunday at 7/8c on Fox.
