'I am making a vow, and it's going to be tough'
Newly minted Golden Globe-winner Regina King wants to pave the way for more women to stand where she's standing.
The If Beale Street Could Talkactress, who won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture during Sunday night's Globes ceremony, ended her acceptance speech by calling out Time's Up and the #MeToo Movement -- and pledging to hire more women.
"I am making a vow, and it's going to be tough, that everything I produce is going to be 50 percent women," said King, whose producing credits include several documentaries and the TV movie The Finest. King went on to challenge her peers in Hollywood, as well as powerful people in other industries, to follow her lead.
