Real Housewives' Brooks Ayers: Vicki Believes My Cancer Diagnosis Is Real

Brooks Ayers, ex-boyfriend of Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, says that his former flame has backed away from her assertion that he doesn't really have cancer.

One day after the conclusion of the show's three-part reunion, in which Gunvalson said she was "duped" by Ayers' cancer claim, Ayers told E! News in an interview that they exchanged texts Monday and she believes his story.

"She said no, she didn't feel like she's been duped and secondly, she does now believe that I have cancer," he told E! News. In the interview, he also clarifies comments he made about going from stage 3 to stage 2 cancer.

"I was trying to communicate that my numbers were improving, as a lay person, trying to communicate and I'm not a physician," he explained. "It doesn't decline in stage so I totally misspoke about that."
