Exclusive: Paul Adelstein to Direct an Episode of Private Practice

Paul Adelstein is stepping behind the camera for an upcoming episode of Private Practice, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Alex Kingston to guest-star on Private Practice

Adelstein, who plays Dr. Cooper Freedman on the ABC medical drama, will direct Episode 18, which will feature guest-star and ERalum, Alex Kingston. The episode is slated to air March 31, the same day as the Grey's Anatomymusical episode.

"I'm honored and excited to direct Private Practice," Adelstein tells TVGuide.com "My challenge, of course, will be shepherding some inexperienced actors Taye Diggs, Amy Brenneman, and Tim Daly, and bringing them up to par. I think I'm up to the challenge and will at least give it a try."

The 41-year-old actor is the third Shondaland Prods. star to take the helm of an episode. Chandra Wilson has directed three episodes of Grey's, and Kevin McKidd just directed his first.
