The Price May Soon Prove Right for Drew Carey

Rosie O’Donnell may have been nixed to take over as host of the Price Is Right, but Drew Carey is still in the thick of negotiations and appears to be a front-runner. That’s if Carey, who starts taping his new CBS game/reality show Power of 10 next week (the show premieres Aug. 7) comes to terms over the compensation package. Though Power tapes in New York and Price in L.A., any bicoastal commuting required by an overlap would apparently pose no problem for the actor.“He has the constitution of an elephant,” a source close to Carey says, adding that “Drew is so perfect for the job, it’s crazy.” TV Guide hears that a decision could come any day. — Reporting by Ileane Rudolph
