Less than a week after Paula Deen parted ways with her agent of 10 years, the celebrity chef has fired her legal team from the firm Oliver Maner, Peoplereports.
The attorneys had been defending Deen in the civil case brought on by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of one of Deen's restaurants who has filed suit against the celebrity chef, claiming racial and sexual discrimination. Instead, Deen has hired Grace Speights, a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment practice, to oversee that lawsuit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deen has also hired Hollywood litigator Patricia Glaser, who has represented Conan O'Brien and Keith Olbermann, to head up her legal team.
A timeline of Paula Deen's downfall
The split from her former attorneys is the latest news surrounding Deen, who has had a tough few weeks. Days after a leaked deposition revealed the celebrity chef's use of racial slurs, Food Network announced it would not renew Deen's contract. She has since parted ways with several other business partners.
