So long, ladies of Litchfield
Production on Orange Is the New Black's final season is coming to a close, and the stars of the show have been steadily sharing their shots from their last set days on social media to make sure we're all a blubbering mess of emotions, too.
OITNB has been a staple of the streaming scene for the past six years, but the Netflix flagship is coming to an end with its seventh season, and we're already starting to miss it. Where else will we get to see a subplot about a panty-sniffer scheme incorporated into a narrative about the woes of the prison-industrial system? The series has been delightfully bananas since the very beginning, and yet, there's a lot of heart and realism sprinkled into the mix to keep it grounded.
As if the prospect of saying goodbye to the show's unique rainbow of characters isn't enough to bring on all the feels, the cast's goodbye snaps are like salt on the wound -- only sweeter.
Natasha Lyonne wrote that after her final shot of the show, a "guttural sound ... like some wounded animal" came out of her.
Taylor Schilling celebrated her last day by propping a photo board filled with co-stars.
Dale Soules commemorated her completion of filming by sharing a picture of herself with the real Piper Kerman, the woman whose memoir originally inspired the series.
#tbt to last week's final day of filming on @OITNB - here I am with @Piper Kerman. A bittersweet day! Much love to my OITNB ladies, now and always. 🧡 #OITNB pic.twitter.com/BrFrpThe8a

Meanwhile, showrunner Jenji Kohan shared a sentimental snap of herself with all the dames of D-Block.
Jessica Pimentel also had a hard time accepting that her time as Ruiz was almost over and ... same, girl, same.
In roughly 20 hours I have to say goodbye to Maria Ruiz forever. I really can't type any more because this ball of ugly cry sobs is living in my belly right now, dying to get out..... #oitnb @OITNB #ruthlessruiz #oitnbs7

And Lea DeLaria took time to remind us how much we love Big Boo as she finished her last scenes for the show.
On this the last day of shooting I present some fond memories. Thanks @OITNB for making me #lordofthelesbians #byeboo pic.twitter.com/MT58iIUi80

Not to mention, Laura Prepon and Taylor Schilling teamed up for a lovey-dovey selfie set to remind us where it all began as we near the show's end. #Vauseman4ever
Always love working alongside this beauty, @TaySchilling! #OITNB 🍊❤️ pic.twitter.com/s80vYeexcK

Prepon also shared a video of the tearful moment she wrapped her role as Alex Vause, enjoying the applause of the crew and an embrace from Kohan.
Orange Is the New Black's cast members have warned us not to expect a happy ending for the bittersweet series. However, there is hope that producers may continue on with some sort of spin-off of the series -- although no details on that have yet emerged.
Until then, we'll have to wait and see what the final season brings when Orange Is the New Black Season 7 drops on Netflix sometime this year.
