Oprah Defends the Kardashians and Calls Them Hard Workers

Of all the people you might consider Kardashian supporters, Oprah Winfrey probably wouldn't come to mind first. But the TV queen came to the defense of reality TV's reigning family on an Australian radio showMonday, commending them on their work ethic.

"People think, 'Oh, if a television camera's just following you, then that's just easy,'" Winfrey told Kyle and Jackie O of KISS FM in Australia, Huffington Post reports. "I went to film them as a family and I couldn't believe how hard they worked." Oprah interviewed the entire Kardashian clan for a special on OWN in 2012.

Oprah's comments come in response to a sentiment shared by Rebel Wilson, who just last week told Kyle and Jackie O that she refused to present an award alongside Kendall and Kylie Jenner at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year. "They're not famous for talent. I worked really hard to get to where I've gotten to."

That may be, but, according to Oprah, work is work. "We were there for seven hours, and they were gonna tape another seven hours after I left. No matter who you are, that is work," Winfrey said.
