Praise be to He that the Righteous Gemstones is coming back

Edi Patterson, Danny McBride, and Adam Devine, The Righteous Gemstones
Jake Giles Netter/HBOHBO and Max's February kicked off with The White Lotus Season 3, and the messy vacations of a new group of wealthy and self-absorbed tourists are just getting started. But if you're interested in watching a different bunch of privileged Americans face the chaotic consequences of their actions, HBO has another satirical drama for you. Danny McBride's The Righteous Gemstones, about the lives of a corrupt televangelist family, returns on March 7.
March is also a big month for A24's partnership with Max. The horror film Heretic starring Hugh Grant, the Oscar-nominated Sing Sing featuring Colman Domingo, and Luca Guadagnino's drama Queer will all be available to stream on the platform.
Below, we pulled together our picks for the month, plus a list of everything coming to HBO and Max in March.

MaxMax streams all HBO shows and movies when they debut on HBO. But not all shows and movies on Max make it to HBO. We'll designate Max exclusives where appropriate.
Two young Mormon missionaries have their faith tested like never before in this A24 horror film. When Sisters Barnes (Sophie Thatcher) and Paxton (Chloe East) knocked on Mr. Reed's (Hugh Grant) front door to share about their religion, they had no idea they would be stepping into a metaphorical hell. Can they survive the menacing game of cat-and-mouse he's trapped them in? [Trailer]
The most sacrilegious show about a religious family is back for a fourth and final season. Since its first season, Danny McBride's dark comedy The Righteous Gemstones has made us laugh as it documents the unraveling of one family, the Gemstones. Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) is the renowned pastor of a megachurch, and his three children — McBride's Danny, Adam DeVine's Kelvin, and Edi Patterson's Judy — are constantly fighting for his affections as well as for more visibility and power in the church. The trailer for Season 4 promises more debauchery and, as usual, no holiness. [Trailer]
Nominated for three Academy Awards — Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Song, and Best Actor for Colman Domingo —
Sing Sing follows a group of incarcerated men who perform in a theater group. The film is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison, and features a supporting cast that includes men who are alumni of the program. [Trailer]
Directed by Luca Guadagnino with a screenplay written by Justin Kuritzkes (yes, this is the same duo behind Challengers), Queer features Daniel Craig as an American expatriate living in 1950 Mexico City. In this film that paints a searing portrait of longing, Craig's William Lee becomes infatuated with an enigmatic Eugene Allerton, played by Outer Banks' Drew Starkey. Queer is an adaptation of William S. Burroughs' 1985 novel of the same name. [Trailer]
