Fox's canceled dinosaur drama Terra Novacould live on via Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After Fox canceled the series on Monday, 20th Century TV began to shop the series to other networks, and Netflix has demonstrated interest, according to the report. Conversations between 20th and Netflix are preliminary, but if the DVD rental and streaming service did opt to pick up the series, it wouldn't be a first for the company: In 2013, Netflix is bringing back 20th Century's Arrested Development, which Fox canceled in 2006.

Fox cancels Terra Nova, but the show could still live on

Netflix also recently launched Lillyhammer a series starring Steven Van Zandt as a New York gangster who is relocated to in Norway. Later this year, the company will also release to its subscribers House of Cards, a drama from David Fincher starring Kevin Spacey.Executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, Terra Nova followed the Shannon familyas they traveled back in time from a dystopian future to a prehistoric Earth. The series premiered to 9.2 million viewers and a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating, but that fell to 7.2 million and a 2.1 by the season finale. Itwas also one of the season's more expensive series to produce, with the pilot alone costing a reported $10 to $20 million.

Netflix revives Arrested Development

In January, Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly told reporters that the show "was an exciting bet to take. It was worthwhile. We're trying to figure out... if that's the best show [for our schedule]. If we had more holes, we'd be thrilled to lock that right in. ... If this is all we produce, we made money on it, the studio made money on it, and the audience enjoyed it."Would you Terra Nova on Netflix?
