NBC Freshman Comedies Bad Judge and A to Z to End

The Day of the Dead brought grim news for two NBC comedies.

The network has canceled the Kate Walsh-led Bad Judge and the romantic comedy A to Z, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

However, both first-year comedies will stay on the air and finish out their 13-episode runs.

The news comes one day after both shows pulled in disappointing numbers. At 9/8c, Bad Judge drew 3.9 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the adults 18-to-49 demographic. At 9:30/8:30c, A to Z attracted just 2.49 million and a 0.7 rating — the same rating Manhattan Love Story — aka that other romantic comedy TV show — pulled in right before it became the first canceled show of the season.
