Mos Def has signed on for a multi-episode arc on the upcoming sixth season of Dexter, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor and hip-hop star, who appeared alongside Mark Wahlberg in The Italian Job, will play an ex-con who claims to have turned his life around, but is still surrounded by violence. It will be up to Dexter (Michael C. Hall) to uncover who he really is.
Mos Def is the second actor to join the Showtime series for the upcoming season. Colin Hanks recently signed on to play Dexter's nemesis, an ancient artifacts expert linked to a series of deaths in Miami.
Reps for the Showtime series could not comment at the time about the casting.
