Michelle Pfeiffer Tells Robert De Niro She Auditioned for Raging Bull

Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer share the screen for the first time in their new mob comedy movie The Family, but unbeknownst to De Niro, they nearly worked together more than 30 years ago. During an interview with Fox News to promote The Family, Pfeiffer revealed that she auditioned for De Niro's 1980 classic Raging Bull.

Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer share the screen for the first time in their new mob comedy movie The Family, but unbeknownst to De Niro, they nearly worked together more than 30 years ago.

During an interview with Fox News to promote The Family, Pfeiffer revealed that she auditioned for De Niro's 1980 classic Raging Bull.

"That was when I very first met you," Pfeiffer told her co-star. "Did I ever tell you that? It was my very first interview ever ... never thinking I would get the part, which of course I didn't. I had always dreamed of working with him, and so I was just very excited."

De Niro, who plays Pfeiffer's husband in The Family, seemed surprised by her revelation. "Really?" he said. "Oh, wow."
