Titled Ms., the production will explore the founding of the publication in 1971. Kathy Najimy co-stars as Steinem's best friend, U.S. Rep. Bella Abzug. The miniseries is being executive-produced by George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Bruce Cohen, along with Tomei and Najimy. Steinem, 80, is acting as a consultant on the project.
Tomei recently signed a first-look development deal with HBO, under which she will develop, produce and potentially star in projects.
