Madonna is "sad" about her divorce from Guy Ritchie, but she isn't letting her personal strife get in the way of her career.
"I'm sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life," the singer told The Associated Press. "It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do."
As she continues on her Sticky & Sweet tour and prepares for the Dec. 1 Sundance Channel premiere of her AIDS documentary, I Am Because We Are, Madonna notes that her busy schedule "provides a distraction that keeps me going."
Last week, the High Court of London granted the couple a preliminary "quickie divorce," which will become official in six weeks and one day if there are no disputes between the two within the timeframe.
Madonna and Ritchie announced their split last month, ending seven and a half years of marriage. They have three children, Lourdes, 12, Madonna's daughter with Carlos Leon, Rocco, 8, and David, 3.
